Advising for Undergraduate Students

Advising update

Effective Monday, March 16th, 2020, the Department of Modern and Classical Languages is temporarily suspending scheduled in-person student academic advising. ALL student advising will be conducted by email/phone, there will be no in-person advising at this moment.  Students will be able to schedule in-person advising as soon as courses resume in classrooms on campus.

Please email the undergraduate academic advisor, Ms. Xi Chen if you have any questions and/or would like to schedule a phone advising appointment.

You might also use Degree Works in Patriot Web. It is a "virtual advisor" that will show you what requirements are missing from your degree plan. Please check to see how to use degree works.

Academic Advising in the Modern and Classical Languages Department program at George Mason University is an integral part of the educational process. Academic advising helps you to plan educational goals and work to achieve them throughout a liberal arts education. The elements of that education include classes, co-curricular activities, work, and personal experiences. With interests and goals in mind, academic advisors will help formulate academic plans.  Advisors are dedicated to creating an atmosphere in which students can discover their potential, set and reach individual goals, explore and plan appropriate academic study, and prepare for success after graduation. Please use the links below for more information about advising in our department.
