Mason Foreign Language Placement
Do you have some knowledge of your target language and yet you are not sure how much you know? Then placements tests are for you. These tests can diagnose whether you should begin at the start of one of our 12-credit language sequences (either 101 or 110) or whether you can begin in one of our more advanced 200-level classes.
You can take these tests in-person at our MCL testing lab or online anytime.
In-person Placement Tests
In-person placement tests are taken in one of our testing labs in Horizon Hall during the Fall 25 semester from 1PM to 4PM on following days. 8/29, 9/5, 9/12, 9/26, 10/10, 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 12/5, 12/19. Please schedule an appointment at language@gmu.edu.
