
MCL Faculty Contribute to George Mason Fulbright Award Recognition
George Mason was recognized as a “Top Producing Institution” of Fulbright University Scholars in 2024-2025. In Modern & Classical Languages, three faculty members have received Fulbright U.S. Scholar awards in recent years. Dr. Jennifer Leeman, Professor of Spanish, spent the fall semester 2024 at the Universidad de Murcia, Spain, as a Senior Fulbright Scholar. During her tenure as Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Leeman lectured on sociolinguistics and conducted research on language attitudes among international students. Dr. Nathaniel Greenberg, Associate Professor of Arabic, was a Senior Fulbright Scholar in Malagá, Spain in spring 2024. During this time, he researched and wrote a book concerning American public diplomacy. Dr. Jonathon Repinecz, Associate Professor of French and Global Affairs, received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar award in 2018. As a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Repinecz conducted research at the Royal Museum for Central Aftrica in Tervuren Belgium on folklore and coloniality in the Congo.
