What inspired you to choose your major and/or minor?

I was inspired to study French because it is my grandmother's first language. Learning and connecting with the French language gives me the opportunity to get closer to her. Additionally, as I am double majoring with global affairs, majoring in French gives me the opportunity to further broaden my worldview and connect with people around the world.

I am most proud of my time interning at the French Embassy in D.C. as the Educational Team Intern as a part of the Cultural Services Department. This was a great professional opportunity, made available to me through my education in French at GMU and the support and encouragement of my professors (Photo provided is me at the French Ambassador's residence). I also received the Excellence in the French Major Award last semester, which was a great honor.

Are there any faculty or staff members who made a difference at Mason?

Dr. Raluca Romaniuc has supported me immensely through all of my academic, study abroad, and professional endeavors. Without her support, I would not be where I am today.

What are your current career plans following graduation? What are your long-term career goals?

My current career plans following graduation are to pursue work with an environmental NGO or a federal agency, focusing on the environment and international relations. Eventually, I want to work in international environmental policy.
