Graduate Lecturer
Spanish: Second Language Acquisition, ESL, Syntax, and Pragmatics.
I have been interested in languages and their intricacies from a very young age. After earning a bilingual degree in Business Administration in Medellín, Colombia, I decided to pursue a career in education and became an English teacher. Five years later, I began my first master’s program in Linguistics at George Mason University, where I discovered my passion for second language acquisition, bilingualism, and multilingualism. Over the past 20 years, I have worked with English and Spanish language learners in elementary, middle, and college settings. Currently, I teach at APS and GMU, where I am also pursuing a Ph.D. in Linguistics.
I believe that life is an endless learning journey, and I cherish every moment spent with my students and peers. I have a strong passion for teaching, and I am convinced that the future of education lies in bilingualism.
