The minor in French provides students with the components of a well-rounded education in French: knowledge of the language (through conversation, composition, and grammar) combined with the study of literature and civilization.

One elective course in English may be applied to the minor. This may be chosen from FREN 325 Major French Writers (Topic Varies) (Mason Core) or FREN 329 Problems of Western Civilization in French Literature (Mason Core), or from a FRLN or non-MCL course with approval. Students choose electives in consultation with an advisor.
