As part of the Fall 2019 Applied Developmental Psychology Colloquia Series (https://adpsyc.gmu.edu/), Dr. Ellen J. Serafini will give an invited talk titled "Differential predictability and dynamicity of individual differences in second language learning” on Wednesday, October 2nd (12-1pm, Robinson Hall B, B205). Rather than isolated traits with uniform impact, Dr. Serafini will discuss how cognitive ability differentially impacts language learning and interacts with factors like learning context, learner proficiency level, and other individual differences. She will conclude by considering implications of this research for language classrooms.
