To be eligible to apply, you must:
1) be a current degree-seeking George Mason student or recent graduate (18 to 35 years old)
2) have completed Chinese 210 or higher by the end of spring 2012
3) have a score of at least 120 on the New HSK Level 2 test (one year study abroad program) or
180 on the New HSK Level 5 test (Master’s program) (Applicants can take the HSK test with the
Confucius Institute on March 18, registration deadline for HSK is Feb 17.
4) submit your transcript with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
5) include a personal statement on why you want to study in China for a year
6) submit a reference letter from a professor other than your Chinese program instructor
7) provide a copy of your resume
