Covers sociopolitical and sociolinguistic issues including the demographics and history of Spanish-speakers in the US. Provides a foundation in issues such as language variation; language and identity; intersections among race, ethnicity, and language; official language policies; the representation of Spanish in the media; and language diversity in education.
