Study of characteristic features of contemporary French. Examines spoken and written French, including syntactic analysis, distributional analysis, and generative-transformational grammar. Emphasis on problem areas for American learner. Limited to three attempts.
Recommended Prerequisite: 15 credits of French at the 300 level or permission of instructor.
