Decker is a literary translator who has published into English books of poetry by the Uruguayan-Spanish poet and writer Cristina Peri Rossi. In 1992, Rossi's book of poetry Babel barbara won the Quarterly Review of Literature Poetry Series Prize, Princeton, in Decker's translation. Rossi and Decker enjoy a long and rich correspondence. In September 2011, Demipage Press of Madrid, Spain, published part of this correspondence in No se lo cuentes a nadie, along with material of other women writers from Latin America and Spain. - The Mason Spirit
