Grace Lee, senior in the College of Science, presented a research project at the 2025 National Conference on Undergraduate Research under the mentorship of Dr. Carrie Bonilla, Associate Professor in Modern and Classical Languages. Grace’s project, titled The Medical Interpreter's Dilemma: Patient Advocacy and Professional Boundaries stemmed from her undergraduate research project in SPAN485 (Spanish in Healthcare) taught by Dr. Bonilla. SPAN485 is a community-based learning course offered by MCL with varying topics, including Spanish in the Schools and Spanish in Healthcare. The conference, widely regarded as the largest undergraduate research conference in the nation, took place April 7-9 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Grace is majoring in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Computational Data Science.
