Ashley Robertson received a Boren Fellowship

Ashley Robertson, a graduate student studying Energy and Sustainability Policy and Science (ESPS), at George Mason University received a Boren Fellowship.

She had a minor in Korean Studies as an undergraduate at George Mason and also had an experience in studying abroad in Seoul Korea. This exposure to Korean culture and language resulted in the creation of two undergraduate course term papers on South Korean energy policy. Both of these papers' research findings fed into a subsequent research poster presentation at the 2021 College of Science Undergraduate Research Colloquium. This research has informed her master's thesis focus on South Korean developmental strategies' impacts on renewable energy policy and energy transition.

She said, “I am honored to have received the 2022 Boren Fellowship and plan to study and conduct my research at Ewha Women's University in Seoul in their Graduate School of International Studies.” she continued “I applied Boren Fellowship because I want to continue strengthening my Korean language ability, conduct my master's thesis research, and advance my career goals in the US federal government.”
