Language teaching for social justice A critical pedagogical approach

Prof. Jennifer Leeman delivered a plenary address titled "Language teaching for social justice: A critical pedagogical approach” at the 2018 Conference on Language, Learning, and Culture on April 7. Leeman provided an overview of critical pedagogy, used this framework to critique the emphasis on individual self-improvement in mainstream teaching practices and educational discourses, and presented a model for critical approaches to second and heritage language education.
