CHIN 201 - K01: Intermediate Chinese I

This CHIN 201-K01 course is designed for students who have finished Chinese 101 and 102 or has the same level knowledge of Chinese experience, and we will cover Lesson 8 to Lesson 11 of the main textbook, Integrated Chinese, Level 1, and Part 1 and Part II (4th edition, Simplified Characters, from Part II, we will only learn Lesson 11). The course will continue focus on developing the four basic skills in language necessary to communicate with native Mandarin Chinese speakers―listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It includes practice in writing Chinese characters, using essential vocabulary and elementary grammar for oral and written communication, exploring aspects of Chinese culture and society, and making comparisons between the Chinese language and culture. In addition, authentic text or audio, visual materials are used to enhance development of communication skills.
