German: German literature and history
Linda L. Gaus joined the Department of Modern and Classical Languages as an adjunct faculty member in Spring 2022. She holds a Ph.D. in German from the University of California-Berkeley and has taught German language, literature, and culture for more than 30 years to people ranging in age from 5 to 75. She has her own translation company, MadDocs LLC, and spends her days working as a professional German-English translator, primarily of technical and commercial documents, but also of literature and historical documents when she gets the chance. She has also taught the 4th grade class at the GLC (the German Language Courses of the German International School Washington) for the past 8 years.
