Analyzes a selection of important literary texts (chanson, novel, poetry, short story) and authors in their historical and cultural contexts: geste, feudalism, socio-political and religious (in)stability. Notes: May be repeated for credit when topic is different. May be repeated within the degree for a maximum 6 credits.

Recommended Prerequisite: 15 credits of French at the 300 level or permission of instructor.
