Jen Barnard, our indispensible Office Manager receives the College of Humanities and Social Sciences' prestigious Mary Roper Award. On December 8, 2008, Jen was honored as one of the two recipients of what became tradition since 2001. She was honored for her demonstrated outstanding service in support of the core goals of the college and for directly supporting the mission of the department. In addition to expertly managing office duties in a timely and constructive fashion, Jen is also an interdisciplinary graduate student. Furthermore, despite all the demanding responsibilities, she still finds time to volunteer for Safe Zone and the National Coalition Building Institute, which are both programs that foster empathy and equality. When it comes to ethics and equality, Jen has demonstrated on numerous occasions that she is not only a proponent but also a practitioner. We are all very proud of her!
