Minor in Latin
The minor in foreign languages with a concentration in Latin offers students the opportunity to develop and refine their knowledge of the Latin language by reading Ancient Roman literature. Students will gain an understanding and appreciation of the literature, culture, and intellectual achievements of Roman antiquity that have contributed to the development of Western civilization.
Latin course offerings complement majors in literature, language, history, philosophy, and the arts, all of which find their roots in classical antiquity. Majors in the natural and the social sciences will also be strengthened by the historical perspective and the advanced training in language and terminology afforded by the minor in Latin.
