Section Information for Fall 2017

Acquiring knowledge about grammatical patterns and structures is not an end in itself but a means to become aware of how language works. Such knowledge is key to making your own thinking, speaking and writing clearer, more effective and more interesting. Moreover, writing effectively and accurately is a necessary skill in today’s academic and professional world. This course guides students through an advanced grammar review, while using authentic examples from different media sources to illustrate specific aspects of syntax, grammar and style. Through various activities, you will practice finding, correcting, and eventually, avoiding errors in your own work and improve your skills in reading, writing and speaking German.
