Introduction including basic grammar, vocabulary, and development of reading skills, and introduction to Roman civilization. Notes: Must be taken in sequence. Limited to three attempts.

Study of advanced grammatical constructions, vocabulary, and patterns of usage. Reading of selections from Roman authors of late Republic and early Empire, and study of cultural and political backgrounds. Limited to three attempts.
